Sustainability is at the heart of how we source, roast, and deliver coffee. From reducing emissions to supporting ethical farming, we’re committed to doing our part to make coffee better for people and the planet.
What Sustainability Looks Like at Coffee World
Here are just a few of the ways we’re working to reduce our environmental impact:

Greener Deliveries: We use an electric van for local deliveries across Cambridgeshire, helping to cut carbon emissions and support cleaner air in our community.

Powered by the Sun: Our facilities are equipped with solar panels that supply a large portion of our energy, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and keeping our roasting more energy-efficient.

Recyclable Packaging: We use fully recyclable packaging, pack orders with recycled paper, and ship in FSC Certified cardboard — making it easier for customers to dispose of materials responsibly.

Low-Waste Roasting: We roast in larger batches to save gas, thanks to a larger drum that retains heat more efficiently. Any unused coffee is collected and turned into coffee logs, and we donate or resell our empty coffee sacks to animal charities.

Responsible Sourcing: We only work with suppliers who align with our values — those committed to fair working conditions, sustainable practices, and environmental care.

Coffee World Change: Sustainability also means supporting people — especially in the communities where coffee is grown. Through our Coffee World Change initiative, launched in 2024, we now donate 1% of the previous year’s profits to projects that improve lives in coffee-growing regions.
Looking to the Future
We’re proud of the sustainable practices we’ve already adopted — but we’re far from finished. As we continue to grow, we’re constantly looking for new ways to minimise our impact and innovate responsibly. We are currently looking at a new and exciting project regarding our roaster and once we’ve adopted this we will be sharing the result.
