Smallholder producers deliver this coffee to the San Cristobal de las Casas and Yajalon buying stations in Northern Chiapas. The growing area runs between 900 and 1100 masl, where the majority of cherries planted are varieties that produce distinct, large, smooth-bodied beans.

Espresso Filter

Espresso: 18g dose of coffee to make 40g of espresso in 26-30s. This makes a double shot.

Filter: We like to use French Press for this coffee:

  • Place 15g of Medium-Course coffee grounds into the French Press and place it on some scales.
  • Start a timer and quickly pour 230g of 90 degree water onto the coffee grounds.
  • Using a spoon, gently incorporate any dry spots of coffee that remain into the water.
  • Place the lid on top, but don’t press down the plunger.
  • After 4 minutes, press the plunger down until it just touches the coffee and very slowly pour the coffee into your cup.

The best recipe for any coffee depends on the equipment, water and preparation being used to make it. We encourage you to experiment and fine tune our suggestions to your preferences.

OK, so decaf is never going to be true coffee, but these make a nice slightly bitter with a sweet undertone coffee.no chemical taste which is good.for an everyday decaf they work really well.especially with a little vanilla or cinnamon added.

This is a very nice medium roast decaf coffee with a nice full but not over powering flavour with some hints of spice and coco. I like to switch to decaff coffee every day after 12 as I drink a LOT of coffee when working so I get through a fair amount. This is a pretty good price and around average for a better quality 1kg bag of decaf coffee beans with a decent aroma and flavour, so I'm very happy with it and would get them again.

The search for a great decaff continues. I drink loads of coffee, and my regular choice is Costco Columbian Supreme at about £8 - £10 per kilo (2lb). Ever since I visited Columbia, I've only drunk Columbian coffee. For me, its the best. Although my sone once brought back a ting bag of Java from Indonesia and that was amazing. Costco Columbian is the best I've found in the UK, and they have started doing a decent Mexican also, but on medical advice I have caff in the morning and decaff in the afternoon.Finding a decent decaf, as many of you know is not easy. Ive tried brands from most from the shops and from Amazon. Without a doubt (for me) the best is Don Pablo Gourmet. But it has jumped in price from £16 to £24, so I went looking for an alternative. I tried a Mexican Turquesa Caff before, and it was very good, so I thought I'd try the Mexican Decaff. Not as good as the Caff, but a reasonable alternative to Don Pablo in the decaff stakes! No sooner than I liked it, it too has jumped in price from £18 to £24. OK, so the price of coffee may be going up, but not by 25% to 33% surely? How is a reasonably good decaff coffee three times the price of a very good caffeinated. If money is no object to you and you are happy to pay £24 for kilo of decaff beans, then buy Don Pablo Columbian decaf if you like a strong flavour, or Coffee World Mexican Decaff if you like a slightly milder flavour. Me, I might just drink less caffeinated and forget the decaff. Not being addictive its an easy habit to kick.
