Continental Blend

Beans are roasted dark and just right for our liking both for espresso and cappuccinos/lattes.
Only the thing is- please could you not put email address and phone number as well as our whole address and name on the packet where anyone can steal our whole contact. I felt this was extremely uncomfortable.

Dark roast. Oily beans. Full of flavour when made in my automatic Coffee Machine. I bought when on offer and I would buy again.

Maybe 5 stars should be more appropriate here considering the very fair price of these coffees. Maybe I'm being too picky, but I find - and this the only negative I can offer - a certain lack of depth (dark chocolatte) to be the charasteristic of all these blends. Definitely balanced overall but I would appreciate more 'bass notes' in the taste with even the darkest of these roasts, which seems to be the Mocha. (The only one of them I haven't tried is the Continental blend, so I'm not speaking of it). The brewing method used in these trials is a classic espresso machine treatment with 9 bar pressure, 1:2 ratio, 15gr in and 30gr or a tad less out over 25-30 seconds (closer to 25 worked better for my tastebuds). Excellent and even flow through the puck with all of these beans. No doubt the roasters know their trade and what they produced are true espresso blends, not just in name but in behaviour too. The use of Indian robusta in the generically named Espresso Blend guarantees prodigious amount of crema without a hint of bitterness. On the downside I found the taste somewhat one dimensional and a tad too dry (not acid at all). But still a lovely cup if you apreciate zero acidity and lots of crema. All other blends in the pack are superior to it, IMO, and come with a higher degree of acidity, while still not overstepping into the lamentably flawed and sour 3rd wave teritorry. Great stuff! I wold say that both Artisan, Mocha Italia and Supremo blends are similar enough with MI boasting a more distinctly chocholatey note of the three (I would appreciate even more of it but that's just me splitting hairs probably). I found the balance of these fine roasts improved by giving them a bit of pre-infusion and pulling them closer to the 25 second mark while maintaining the 1:2 ratio. Also worth mentioning is the wonderful ability of Artisan and Supremo blends to shine in a diluted form, i.e. as Americanos. Very good beans in every way, veering toward examplary and a great bargain to boot.

I am local and want to support local businesses. This is 3rd time I am ordering and Unfortunately it’s the second time when the delivery takes ages. The promised delivery date is already 3 days late. Same problem happened last time. I am not sure I will be buying again

Since we discovered this band at one of the local Cambridge restaurants, we made the leap from rubbish instant to home barista, we have never looked back. Like the Selection boxes of coffee, shame you can’t pic and mix your own selections of 6 you like the best. Website seems to have issues with Apple pay on occasion which is frustrating. Think that’s Apple rather than the owners of the site.
