About Guatemala...

Currents of hot, dry air rise from the Tehuantepec plains in Oaxaca, Mexico, while cool breezes descend from the Cuchumatanes Mountains. Where they meet lies Huehuetenango — a region of diverse microclimates. This unique convergence protects coffee cherries from frost, allowing them to thrive at high altitudes. The slow maturation at these elevations enhances sweetness and develops the region’s signature chocolaty character.

Espresso Filter

Espresso: Espresso: 16g dose of coffee to make 32g of espresso in 23-26s. This makes a double shot.

Filter: We like to use French Press for this coffee:

  • Place 15g of Medium-Course coffee grounds into the French Press and place it on some scales.
  • Start a timer and quickly pour 230g of 90 degree water onto the coffee grounds.
  • Using a spoon, gently incorporate any dry spots of coffee that remain into the water.
  • Place the lid on top, but don’t press down the plunger.
  • After 4 minutes, press the plunger down until it just touches the coffee and very slowly pour the coffee into your cup.

The best recipe for any coffee depends on the equipment, water and preparation being used to make it. We encourage you to experiment and fine tune our suggestions to your preferences.

Coffee World | Cuba Serrano Lavado Single Origin Arabica UK Roasted Whole Coffee BeansI do love my coffee, I particularly like dark roasted stronger flavours. This is a brand of coffee that I haven't tried before so when it was offered to me I couldn't resist giving it a try.The coffee beans are supplied sealed within a a thick sealed foil lined paper bag. When I received this there was a lovely aroma of coffee even though the bag was sealed. My first thought was that maybe the bag had split or maybe had a hole in it. But no the bag was still sealed. The best before date showed there were 11 months remaining, not a great deal of time but I'm sure this will be consumed well before that date expires. After opening the bag I was presented with a very strong coffee aroma. The beans are quite light in colour, more golden than dark, they also looked a little dry but they appeared to be fresh.I did find I had to use a little more of this coffee to obtain a decent cuppa, using my normal amount resulted in it being slightly weak. An extra half spoonful took care of that.I do like this coffee, it has a strong dry flavour that's smooth and not at all bitter - Very nice coffee!CONTENTS:1 x 1KG Coffee BeansThank you for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful.

Great coffee. Comes in a paper bag with a hole for the aroma to come through. I tried this with my daughter as she is better at tasting the different flavours in a coffee. We both liked it, I don't like mine too strong but it was really good and my daughter assures me she could taste the flavours in there.Highly recommended

Have had a couple of small bags of the Guatemalan whole bean. Liked it enough to buy the 1Kg bag.

This is my second coffee which I bought from this seller and so far I'm not disappointed. This coffee has mostly a chocolatey aroma, surprisingly a bold taste, and a delicate tobacco aftertaste (which is normal in some coffees!).

Nice coffee for my espressos but just a little 'flowerier' than some other Guatemalans I have tried. I'm now trying a few of your others to see if there is another I prefer.

Absolutely love South America coffee and Guatemalan is some of the best. This is great morning coffee, nice and sweet and doesn’t leave a bitter after taste.

I tried these beans in different types of coffee to see hoe they performed. I made filter coffee, an espresso, cold brew and a latte. I personally preferred these beans on the cold brew and the latte as the flavour wasn't overly poweful and it became very noticeable in the espresso and the filter coffee. For milder drinks, like the cold brew and latte I thought they taste nice, the flavour came through enough and because they're not overly bitter, it made drinks I really enjoyed. I found that the caffeine boost I got from these beans wasn't excellent and felt like I could have had a bit extra. However, I thought the flavour was quite pleasant. I find these to be quite expensive for what they are, though. I have much better coffees in this price range (and for even less money!). Despite this, I like trying different makes and brands of coffee so that I am not always drinking the same so it was nice to try and enjoyed them whilst they lasted!

1KG of coffee beans is a big bag! It's amazing how much difference ground coffee vs the full bean makes in terms of amount of space it takes up. Was not expecting it to be this big!To get to the coffee itself, it smells really nice even through the bag (as it's only a paper bag). This was actually my first experience with beans and I didn't even own a grinder before this. I got myself a grinder and french press and got to work! It's actually not bad to be honest. It is a bit pricey at £19, but then again I'm not very good at differentiating coffees, so maybe a coffee connoiseur would find more value for their money in these. The only thing I will say is, the ground coffee version of this seems to be the exact same price as the beans. I could just be very ignorant, but I don't really see why you would choose the beans over the ground version when there's extra effort involved to make a cup of coffee?Overall, it's pretty good coffee, would recommend!

Initially I was very hesitant in getting these Cuba Serrano Lavado Single Origin Arabica UK Roasted while coffee beans as several reviews have stated that the beans were not fresh. I can confirm that this wasn’t the case for me, and in fact, they were fresh and tasteful. They are very easy to grind into ground coffee, but if you don’t have the facilities for this, they also offer this coffee variant grounded. The flavour is delicious, however I found that the first time round it was quite weak and a little watery. I would strongly recommend adding a bit more coffee than normal, maybe x1.5. When this coffee is strong enough, the taste is beautiful, with a taste of Walnut Tobacco Slight Cocoa. I do think that the branding and packaging could be presented better, perhaps keeping the environmentally friendly brown paper based packaging, but with a low-opacity illustrated print of coffee all across the packaging. (Just a suggestion :))A well priced and delicious coffee, worth a try!Thank you for reading my unbiased review, I hope you found it helpful. ;)

So had a first few cups today and I was kind of disappointed was expecting a bit more from this coffee as I heard a lot of good stuff about Cuba serrano. However, the first thing which is not ideal is a bag is not resealable, so need to search for the container to store it so as a result of this it looses 1 star. The smell is not bad reminds a bit of cocoa. As I like dark roasted coffee with high intensity, this one felt to a weaker side. The taste is average and has a slight hint of nuts. Acidity is quite low, opposite to a dark roasted one. As well this coffee has a very high body, so it will not be suitable to anyone who likes heavy coffee. This coffee would be more for a day-use as at least to me it does not give what needed morning kick.

I’m by no means a coffee connoisseur but I’d bought a bean to cup machine and was looking for a nice coffee to go with it. These beans were really nice, good rich flavour. I found the coffee quite dark, which is what I was looking for.

Used in a bean to cup machine, this is the best coffee I have had from this company. Good value for money. Prompt delivery. Recommend as an all day coffee.

Superb coffee. I have a DeLonghi bean to cup machine and I've tried lots of different roasts and beans from different regions but these are something else. I like to have this in lattes and milky coffee drinks but it's equally as palatable as an espresso or americano. Fabulous taste, not too strong. If you like lattes then this is product to buy!!

This coffee has lovely bitter notes that give me that full-bodied aromatic coffee flavour that i want in the morning. It is however leaning towards the bitter side when i drink it straight up black. The beans grind up well and smell gorgeous, But some beans are slightly uneven in the roasting process. This still tastes great and makes a lovely brew, As i like my coffee white and sweet with a complex Cuban flavour profile.

This is the first (1kg) bag of beans I’ve tried from Coffee World, and I was looking forward to tasting them. The ‘use before’ date on the bag confirmed they need to be consumed by 2021 (but always use within 2 weeks of opening, so there’s still plenty of life left in the beans.I’m not a huge fan of very strong coffee - I prefer milder flavours - so I had no expectations of something on the stiffer side as this is apparently a ‘3’ in the strength side. The aroma upon opening the bag was the usual extremely pleasant smell I expect from opening a decent bag of beans. The taste was very pleasant: not too acidic, fairly mild, but with a bit of a kick to it.Overall, I was quietly impressed and I may be tempted to buy more coffee under this brand in future.

I give 3 stars because it is not very tasty, not my taste coffee, entirely not worth the price.I tried different types of coffee from those beans: espresso, latte, cappuccino,,, and I can drink it, I will use all the beans, but won't be buying again.I just prefer the stronger one, this coffee might be good for people who drink light coffee.
