Simply lovely!

Lovely aroma greets you when you open the bag. flower like smells come out even before grinding. The bag has an expiry date on it, May 2022 it reads. Not sure how fresh these are....With the voucher discount this is great value but without the discount it is an expensive one as a kilo bag.I am familiar with Ethiopian beans. My Espresso attempt had loads of crema so i assume this bag is pretty freshly roasted. I tried 1:3 ratio at 93C in 24 seconds and the aromas that came out of the resulting black Americano is on par with Unions single Yayu forest/ natural spirit. I feel I need to try 1:2.5 ratio next time as it tastes a little over extracted, hiding the sweet/citrusy notes. In the beginning of the cup caramel chocolate notes greet you! Mid point onwards through the cup citrus notes kick in. I also feel contrary to what the bag suggest (light roast) this is almost a medium roast. I tried these as Turkish coffee (IMO that never lies) and this is a well balanced and a very aromatic roast. All in all a very promising bag of beans to play with and enjoy over dark winter months awaiting us.

What a pleasant surprise!

An excellent, strong, fresh coffee with a distinct bergamot note - completely unique and noticeable to my untrained palate! It has the wow factor. It looks and tastes premium, lovely rich colour to the beans and in the cup and the price point is correct - would happily serve this to friends.

Genuinely mind-blowing this coffee changed how I see the drink entirely

I dont normally write reviews, but this coffee demands one.I picked this up out of curiosity, expecting something slightly fruitier than my usual brew. What I got was a full-on flavour revelation. The moment I opened the bag, the aroma hit me like steamy heaven floral, sweet, and somehow... elegant?Brewed at 94C, steeped for 4 minutes, and ground to that perfect wet sand texture the result? Smooth, clean, and not even remotely bitter. Ive never been able to drink black coffee without sugar before, and now I genuinely prefer it that way. Thats how good this is.The standout for me is the aftertaste rich, subtle bonfire treacle that lingers in the best way possible. No ashiness, no bite. Just wave after wave of flavour that actually evolves with every sip. This is the kind of coffee that makes you pause and savour. Its not just a caffeine hit its an experience. I honestly didnt know coffee could taste like this.If you're used to supermarket blends or drowning your mug in milk and sugar just to tolerate it, do yourself a favour buy this. Brew it right. And prepare to have your expectations obliterated.

Previously brilliant. This bag, not so much.

I've bought these multiple times. The Ethiopian coffee is usually very good, but my recent purchase has been disappointing. Not sure if this bag is older/roasted differently or something but the coffee has been a bit sour and the beans aren't as uniformly coloured, nor do they smell as good as they have previously.

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe

Had to look for an alterative to Booth's Yirgacheffe that was no longer in stock and found this. Perfect match. Fine example of this type of coffee and great value. Very distinctive and fresh-tasting.

Ordered this in a pinch when we ran out of our regular weekly coffee and our next delivery was delayed. Usually drink single origin coffee in a V60 filter and I was hesitant to try a new supplier but this is a pleasant surprise. Smooth and light like a black tea, this coffee reminded me of the reason why I bought a V60 in the first place. Will buy again!

I love to drink coffee twice a day, one in the for a wake up boost :) and one later afternoon. When this Ethiopian coffee arrived, I opened the bag and had a lovely and fresh coffee smell like it has been rousted recently. The beans has a nice dark brown colour, evenly and carefully roasted, It takes a bit of a time to grind it and probably some people will take this as disadvantage of the product but to be honest I love to do it for my self, I always just grind a small portion to be enough for a couple of days so I know it is fresh and I Don't let the flavour to escape with the oxidation. It gives my a full coffee experience if I grind it for my self. It make a dark drink in colour and with an intense coffee smell, taste very good doesn't have any bad aftertaste. I'm really happy with this, really good coffee it boost my day every morning. I will be a regular buyer.

These beans really make a great tasting coffee and they smell amazing. You get a big 1kg bag of them which give off a lovely smell before you even open the bag. Id not tried coffee from the Yirgacheffe region yet, but I’d heard of it so was keen to try some. The bag I received had a best before date of 1st July 2021.I ground the beans and used my French press to make the coffee, and I’ve got to say it’s very nice indeed. I found three level tablespoons per mug, leaving it for 3 minutes to steep was the perfect ratio for me and it tasted strong, but sweet and with a fruity aftertaste. I usually have two sugars per drink, but I was happy to drink this with just one. Its very much an excellent coffee to have with a cake or other sweet treat.I’m not a coffee connoisseur or anything like that, I just enjoy drinking it and as I get older, I find myself gravitating more to coffee than tea and its great to experience all the different blends. This one in particular tastes amazing and matches my sweet tooth perfectly, I prefer the less bitter tasting ones like these and I can enjoy this at any time of the day. This is now on my favourites list and I’m glad I was introduced to it. I’m very happy to recommend it and in my opinion, it deserves five stars!

Perfect! Seriously lovely roasted coffee beans with a very full flavour with lots going on - a hint of fruitiness/flora and a sweet rich aftertaste. Very tasty and an aroma which is divine, especially once you get grinding. It's a good price for 1kg of such decent quality coffee beans like this so I'm very pleased with it and will definitely get it again.

This is a product review of the ground Coffee (not beans). My fiancée and I have been testing it out over the past three days and I'm pleased to say we think it is just great coffee, great taste, nice & strong. I would consider getting this again - definitely recommend.

I messed up my order but coffee world extremely kindly rectified it for me. These single origin beans are very smooth. I think my equipment doesn't quite do it justice but I'm very pleased with the crema and subtle flavours!

This is a really nice coffee - assertive but not overwhelming, good aroma and worked well with my espresso machine. Would not hesitate to buy again.

I enjoy a good mug of coffee, normally brewed with a cafetiere (French press). I've tried a few different varieties of these Coffee World beans and have been imrpessed with the quality. Unlike beans I've had from some other suppliers, which have been burnt and misshapen, these Coffee World beans are uniform in size and shape, and roasted to a nice, even, light-brown colour. The resulting brews have been smooth and well-rounded. I find Columbian coffee has a distinctive flavour which I enjoy best in the middle of the day, but that's just me! Recommended.

For me, Colombian coffee is a safe choice when buying a supermarket brand. You can always count on it for a decent cup of coffee without it being exceptional in any way. I was totally surprised then by how good this Colombian coffee from Coffee World is. It's full-flavoured, with no strange notes in it, just good fresh coffee. The pack of single origin Arabica beans I received is Excelso, which is central region Colombia, and apparently it's noted for its smooth, rich and slightly nutty taste. You couldn't describe it better. I ground the beans, made mine in an espresso machine, and it makes a medium roast espresso with a good crema. If youtake your coffee with milk it makes a nice cappuccino and if you prefer dairy-free milk alternatives, this is lovely with unsweetened almond milk, blending well with the slightly nutty flavour.A 500g bag of Coffee World beans looks quite expensive, but for a fine quality fairtrade coffee that is not mass produced, this is actually reasonably priced. You won't go near a supermarket brand coffee again. The packaging is good, with a press seal to keep it fresh. Fabulous coffee, highly recommended,

This is my go to coffee, I have a good quality hand grinder for use with a Gaggia Classic and an Aeropress. ( Knock Feld47 hand grinder )
I am really pleased with how both types of coffee taste
I would say its a mild tasting coffee which I enjoy, I don't enjoy strong tasking coffees with Robusta beans added
Hope that helps
