About Brazil Minas Gerais...

Minas Gerais, meaning 'General Mines,' was named after the gold rush of the 18th century. But today, coffee is its true treasure. The state exports around 54–64% of Brazil’s coffee, making it a powerhouse in the global coffee trade. To further improve yields and quality, many farms have recently integrated advanced irrigation systems into their agriculture.

Espresso Filter

Espresso: Espresso: 16g dose of coffee to make 30g of espresso in 24-27s. This makes a double shot.

Filter: We like to use Moka Pot for this coffee:

  • Unscrew the base of your Moka Pot and add 250g of 60 degree water ( approximately fill to the safety valve).
  • Add 25g of medium-fine coffee to the coffee grounds chamber. Insert this into the base’s opening.
  • Use a 1:10 coffee : water brew ratio if you’re using a different size moka pot.
  • Screw the top on, open the lid, set the moka pot onto the stove and start the heat on medium.
  • After coffee begins to flow into the lid, time 15 seconds and then remove from the heat. Remove sooner than this if the coffee stops flowing.
  • Wait for the coffee to stop flowing, decant and drink as-is or dilute for a weaker brew.

The best recipe for any coffee depends on the equipment, water and preparation being used to make it. We encourage you to experiment and fine tune our suggestions to your preferences.
