About the Academy

Formerly named the “Cambridge Coffee Academy” (CCA) now operating as “Coffee World, The Academy” in our multi-purpose space in Milton, Cambridge. We’re practical driven coffee enthusiasts and we’re eager to share our passion with you. Our training centre is based in Milton, Cambridge; its on the A14 with the M11 close by. It’s a two minute drive from Cambridge North Station, a ten minute drive from the city centre or a ten minute walk from Milton Park and Ride. Our training centre is located at 135 Cambridge Road, Milton, Cambridge, CB24 6AT.

Our ideology and what’s Inside

Above the Coffee World Roastery is our training room. Our equipment includes La Marzocco and Rancillio Coffee machines, a brew bar with a host of brewing methods from V60 to aeropress and three roasters downstairs (Probat, Geisen and Vittoria).

Good equipment is no good without a good teacher, and ours are the best. With years of experience we teach using a hands on practical driven approach to allow our trainees to develop their own unique style whilst they learn.

Apart from our trainers with years of experience we also have master coffee roasters and engineers in our team. Our space is spilling with excitement and new ideas and we love making others a part of it.

I wish to thank Jack for a great morning training at the academy.
My brother and I attended the Basic Brewing course. We had a great time while there. Jack was a great instructor, he gave us plenty of instruction and lots of time to ask
    … More questions etc.
We have now signed up for the next and can’t wait.
We also used the coffee shop which is great and the staff there were knowledgeable and happy to talk coffee and more.
Thanks to all the staff who are very helpful, friendly and cheers to all and see you soon.
    Darren and Glen.

Bought a latte art course as a gift for my husband and his brother, who are massive coffee lovers. I was so impressed with customer service from the very beginning - Jake was so helpful in booking a date in advance (my brother in law came … More from Oz so had a short window of opportunity!). The class itself was really informative, well run and they came away with loads more knowledge and a great foundation for practicing at home.
The setting was lovely, they really enjoyed the coffee and can't wait to visit the cafe once open! Cannot recommend highly enough.

My boyfriend and I attended the barista basics training course this morning. Jake was very passionate and conscientious to new beginners. He was friendly, knowledgable and engaging, making the whole experience really worth while. Definitely … More recommend for anyone wanting to know a bit more about coffee 🙂

Had an awesome session with Jake this morning on the "home brew masterclass" we covered the concepts of making espresso and got to make lots myself - It was a fantastic opportunity to take my theoretical knowledge and turn them … More into concrete physical skills!
Jake was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to- being very receptive to questions and tailoring the training around what I wanted to cover- really great experience all around and I'll be sure to come to the cafe when its open! - easy recommend to anyone looking to learn more about coffee and the art of making it 🙂

I just had a great 1:1 Bring your own machine session with Jake. I managed to dial in the correct shot using my own machine and the difference is night & day. Also spent some time looking at milk steaming, again great guidance and advice … More from Jake. Managed make my best latte art ever!
Would return for another course in a heartbeat.
