Coffee World | Cuba Serrano Lavado Single Origin Arabica UK Roasted Whole Coffee BeansI do love my coffee, I particularly like dark roasted stronger flavours. This is a brand of coffee that I haven’t tried before so when it was offered to me I couldn’t resist giving it a try.The coffee beans are supplied sealed within a a thick sealed foil lined paper bag. When I received this there was a lovely aroma of coffee even though the bag was sealed. My first thought was that maybe the bag had split or maybe had a hole in it. But no the bag was still sealed. The best before date showed there were 11 months remaining, not a great deal of time but I’m sure this will be consumed well before that date expires. After opening the bag I was presented with a very strong coffee aroma. The beans are quite light in colour, more golden than dark, they also looked a little dry but they appeared to be fresh.I did find I had to use a little more of this coffee to obtain a decent cuppa, using my normal amount resulted in it being slightly weak. An extra half spoonful took care of that.I do like this coffee, it has a strong dry flavour that’s smooth and not at all bitter – Very nice coffee!CONTENTS:1 x 1KG Coffee BeansThank you for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful.

I probably wouldn’t buy a 1kg bag of this or any other coffee, it’s too much for us to get through in a reasonable time, however the coffee itself has a nice flavour and it’s just the right strength. The use by date is a year in advance, which is about in line with what I’d expect, but I can’t see a roasting date anywhere if that’s important to you. Because the bag is so large it won’t fit in the fridge, and I’ve had to store it in the cupboard with an elastic band round it to keep it closed, but there doesn’t seem to be any detriment in doing that.I’ve not had this type of Cuban coffee before, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but as coffees go this is fine. There’s no bitter taste, and I can get the strength I want by using the normal recommended amount, I haven’t had to adjust it at all. I use an electric grinder, and an electric percolater, so I can’t speak for any other types of coffee maker. If I saw this in a regular size bag, I’d buy it again.

Have had a couple of small bags of the Guatemalan whole bean. Liked it enough to buy the 1Kg bag.

    V60, medium/coarse grind, 5x 50ml pours.
