I bought this filters thinking they were the plastic filter. Yet not sure how they work, should I just drop them in the tank?

Hello, that’s correct, yes. You would just need to soak it for a couple of minutes. Meanwhile remove and drain your tank, remove old filter and place new rinsed filter. Some machines have a plastic apparatus that holds the filter at the bottom of the tank. Fill tank with water. Put back into machine.
Change every 60-90 days or every 40 litres.
